The brief

A validated HVAC environment, on a date that wouldn't move.

The challenge

A pharmaceutical client needed a controlled-environment manufacturing area built to validation grade — particulate counts, differential pressure cascade, temperature and humidity all engineered into the HVAC design from day one. The site had a fixed validation window for product launch, so a missed handover meant a missed market.

Splitting the work across separate design, supply and install contractors would have introduced the very coordination gaps the client wanted to avoid.

What we delivered

An integrated MEPF EPC package covering every layer of the cleanroom envelope and its supporting utilities:

  • HVAC engineering: load calculations, air-change rates, pressure cascade, terminal HEPA filtration
  • Process piping: USP-grade water, compressed air and industrial gas distribution
  • Electrical infrastructure for HVAC + utility loads, panels and routing
  • Validation-ready commissioning: balancing, particulate testing, IQ/OQ documentation
  • AMC: preventive maintenance schedule from day one of handover

How the EPC lifecycle applied

Engineering. Layouts, single-line diagrams and BOQ produced in-house. Validation requirements engineered into the design before procurement, not retrofitted afterwards.

Procurement. AHU, HEPA filters, pumps and piping specified, vendor-vetted and expedited to site with documented inspection at the supplier's works.

Installation. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing work coordinated by a single site team — no inter-contractor disputes, no daily blocking on each other.

Testing & commissioning. Pressure cascade verified, particulate counts measured at every classified zone, IQ/OQ documentation handed over as a single bound deliverable.

AMC. Preventive maintenance schedule activated on the day of handover. Same engineers who built it now maintain it.

Outcome

Handover landed inside the client's validation window. The facility passed validation on first attempt and is in continued production. Outcome metrics to be added
